The Escapade Horizon represents the next generation of roof top tents. Years of experience combine to make the Horizon the ultimate in choice for comfort, practicality and 4 season performance. This flagship aluminium hard-shell roof tent offers much more than you've come to expect from a roof top tent.
Premium Recycled Materials
The tent fabric of the Horizon is made from high-quality ECO recycled polyester. This is made from recycled plastic waste. We use around 185 plastic bottles to produce a tent, a far better alternative to landfill.
The Horizon tent fabric is high-quality 320 g/m² Ripstop Recycled Polyester Oxford. This tent features an impressive 5000mm waterproof rating, internal seam sealing and a large rain fly cover to keep you dry even in prolonged rain. When closed the fabric and mattress are protected from water ingress by a triple seal system featuring a unique ‘lip’ seal that acts like a drip on a window sill. Not to mention all our tents come with a built-in anti-condensation layer below the mattress and external shoe storage!
Lower Fuel Consumption
The low-profile design of the Horizon is not only eye-catching, from every angle. The aerodynamic design with a closed height of just 16.5 cm results in minimal air resistance. Additional fuel consumption is reduced to a minimum. Whether it's an off-road vehicle or a van we worked hard to reduce wind noise and fuel consumption.
More Comfort
The Horizon is equipped with a memory foam mattress with a removable cover with waterproof underside. Beneath the mattress there is also 3D mesh base to combat condensation. Maximum sleeping comfort, excellent ventilation, so you sleep as though you were at home in your own bed.The interior has numerous pockets and storage options. The highlight is the vision panel in the middle of the roof storage space, which is the size of an iPad so that you can watch a film from a seated position when the weather outside is not good.
More Light
The interior dimmable LED lighting can be positioned in any of three positions offering both the possibility for direct lighting and also mood lighting. As always, this can be connected to any 12V power source using a USB port.
More Atmosphere
Due to the maximum height of 142 cm, which the tent reaches when opened in the entrance area, plus the 30 cm at the lowest point the interior feels like it offers more space than you would expect based on its dimensions. The multiple built-in ventilation openings to all four sides ensure a pleasant oxygen rich environment inside, enabling a continuous exchange of air in the Horizon helping to avoid condensation inside the roof tent - even in rainy weather.All openings and windows are zippered and can be quickly opened and closed as needed.
Our T-slot mounting system is designed to work seamlessly with our range of roof racks and roof bars, featuring M8 stainless bolts for a perfect fit. Installing a roof top tent can be a challenging task due to its weight and safety concerns. At Escapade, we offer a free fitting service for our roof rack/roof bar combo customers, and discounted fitting for those with suitable roof racks of their own. We're located in Swindon, making us conveniently accessible for the Cotswolds, Wales, the South coast, and Devon and Cornwall. We schedule fitting on Thursdays and Fridays, and everything is pre-prepared to minimize your waiting time.

We offer a FREE fitting service at our facilty in Swindon, just off the M4 at junction 16!
