How waterproof is an Escapade Roof Tent?
Share
Built different.
Both the Horizon and the THRE360 roof tents feature impressive 5000m waterproof ratings. We made sure that waterproofing our tents was a top priority, as we've all used tents before that simply weren't up to the task. Being based in the UK, our tents had to be able to handle the weather!
Fabric
The THRE360 tent fabric is high quality 320 g/m² Ripstop Recycled Polyester Oxford. This tent features an impressive 5000mm waterproof rating and a large rain fly cover to keep you dry even in prolonged rain. When closed the fabric and mattress are protected from water ingress with a double seal system. All our tents come with a built in anti-condensation layer below the mattress and external shoe storage!
The tent fabric of the Horizon is made from high-quality ECO recycled polyester. This is made from recycled plastic waste. We use around 185 plastic bottles to produce a tent, a far better alternative to landfill.
The Horizon tent fabric is high-quality 320 g/m² Ripstop Recycled Polyester Oxford. This tent also features an impressive 5000mm waterproof rating, internal seam sealing and a large rain fly cover to keep you dry in prolonged rain. Similar to the THRE360 roof tent, when closed the fabric and mattress are protected from water ingress by a triple seal system featuring a unique ‘lip’ seal that acts like a drip on a window sill. Like the THRE360, the Horizon roof tent features the same built-in anti-condensation layer below the mattress and external shoe storage.
Rain Fly Cover
The latest version of the Horizon roof tent features an extended rain fly cover which now provides coverage to the sides of the tent as well as the front. This gives the happy camper extra protection and shelter from the rain, allowing for a more enjoyable camping experience even in the wettest conditions.
High Quality Zips
All our tents come with high quality, robust zips that will not only continue to work but will also prevent the ingress of water.
Lip Seal System
The Horizon tent features a totally unique 'lip seal' system that surrounds the entire diameter of the tent shell. Whilst no one can ever truly say that water is 100% repelled, during our product testing we have never found any water has been able to penetrate this seal. With the proper maintenance and packing away procedures, the Horizon tent should never succumb to mould or fausty smells.
